On January 19, at the initiative of the Department of International Business with the support of the Confucius Cabinet of BSEU at the Republican Confucius Institute of Sinology (BSU) within the framework of the academic cooperation agreement between BSEU and Dalian Polytechnic University (大连工业大学, the People’s Republic of China), and with the active endorsement of the Dean of the School of International Business Communications at BSEU, Yulia Alexandrovna Shavruk, a scientific seminar was held to further cooperation development.

The curators and organizers of the event were Head of the Department of International Business, Galina Vladimirovna Turban, and Executive Director of the Center for the Study of the CIS, Go Shuhun (PRC).

The seminar was also attended by Vice-Rector for Academic Activities of BSEU Olga Anatolyevna Morozevich, Dean of the Faculty of International Economic Relations Oksana Nikolaevna Shkutko, Head of the Educational and Methodological Department for Coordination of Education of Foreign Citizens Elena Vladimirovna Kolyada, Head of the Department of English and Oriental Languages Elena Aleksandrovna Malashenko, Chinese language teachers from the Department of English and Oriental Languages Varvara Yuryevna Nazarenko and Chu Xiao, as well as students interested in learning the Chinese language.

Dalian Polytechnic University (DPU) is a partner of BSEU in the fields of education and research activities. Cooperation between the two institutions is developing within the framework of an agreement signed in 2009 for mutual student training, the development of scientific personnel through graduate and doctoral schools, as well as collaboration on joint educational and research projects, both bilaterally and as part of international programs. DPU serves as an exemplar of a classical university where education encompasses both economic and humanitarian disciplines, conducted in the Chinese language.

During the event, Dalian Polytechnic University presented educational programs for students and teachers at the following levels: bachelor’s, master’s, and Ph.D. To apply, it is necessary to provide a certificate of passing the standardized Chinese language qualification exam (from HSK 3 and above).

The year 2024 has been declared the Year of Quality in the Republic of Belarus, so it is hoped that the cooperation between our universities will reach a new, even higher level.
