In accordance with the plan of the activity of the Confucius Classroom of the BSU Republican Institute of Sinology named after Confucius at Belarusian State Economic University the Research and Practical Round Table “World View from the Perspective of Chinese and Belarusian Cultures” was held at BSEU on December 15 2017.

There were more than 80 participants including lecturers, research associates, undergraduates and master students of Belarus state University, Belarusian State Economic University, Minsk State Linguistics University, other Belarusian Universities as well as the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

The participants shared their research findings on such issues as methodology of the research into the picture of the world, reflection of the national world view in material and spiritual culture, interrelation between the universal and the national in the language picture of the world, contrastive study of languages and cultures. The emphasis was made on the dialogue of languages and cultures under conditions of enhanced Chinese and Belarusian cooperation in various spheres.

The keynote speakers at the plenary session were Prof. A. Bykov, BSEU Vice Rector for research, Dr. hab. (Economics); V. Leonov, Deputy Director of the Republican Institute of Sinology named after Confucius of Belarus State University; representatives of the Belarusian-Chinese analytical Centre of the Institute of Economics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus V. Sugak and S. Golubev, Dr. hab. (Economics); BSEU scholars Prof. N. Kurganova, Dr. hab. (Linguistics) and O. Gubskayya, Ph.D.

The papers presented at the forum were published in the Proceedings of the Round Table.
